Carina Olofsson Gavelin has a passion for wine. Especially Swedish wine. She has been cultivating grapes and making wine herself since 2005 and does tours to her vineyards in Sweden. In 2017 she was appointed Swedish wine ambassador. Today's topic is about Skåne as the leading wine area in Scandinavia and how its wines have taken a huge step forward in quality over the last five to ten years. Every bottle of wine has a story. As a former wine journalist and now sommelier it allows Carina to share these stories based on exploring the history, culture, the grape, how a wine matches the local cuisine and the immediate reaction of the wine drinker. In 2018 Carina started the association “Skånska Drycker” which works to promote locally produced craft beverages from Scania region and she was nominated by colleagues for the Scanian Wine Award of the Year 2019. This will be a hybrid meeting held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Malmö, and virtually on Zoom.
