The Malmö International Rotary Club (MIRC) was recently recognised by the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation for our members' generous support of the foundation's Annual Fund.
The Rotary Foundation is a non-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs. It is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world.
MIRC was recognised as one of only 1,550 clubs to achieve Top 3 Highest Per Capita Annual Giving within our District, one of only 3,4000 clubs worldwide to attain status as an Every Rotarian, Every Year Club and one of only 4,000 clubs worldwide to become a 100% Foundation Giving Club.
The club received a special 2018-2019 banner as well as a letter of thanks from Eric Schmelling, the Rotary Foundation's Chief Philanthropy Officer, who noted that our "support enables Rotarians to tackle the world's toughest challenges, both in your community and across the globe."
