Malmö International

POSTPONED: Our planned guest speaker had to cancel her visit with us due to unforeseen circumstances. We will re-schedule her talk as soon as possible and share details of the replacement speaker shortly.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Copenhagen, MAD, (*the Danish word for “food”), inspires and empowers cooks, servers, and eaters to create sustainable change. From luminaries in the field to young apprentices, this non-profit organization connects individuals and equips them to make a difference in their restaurants and the world.

Our guest speaker, MAD Executive Director Melina Shannon-DiPietro, will tell us about MAD’s programming, which includes a biennial Copenhagen-based Symposium that brings together over six-hundred people to discuss the future of food; an annual program of events in communities around the world; a newly launched publication, Dispatches, that curates long-form writing and journalism with social purpose; and a library of educational videos that have been seen by millions of people.

Guests of members and fellow Rotarians are always warmly welcome at Malmö International Rotary meetings. And if you'd like to join us for dinner after the meeting, plan to arrive at the hotel by 17:45 so that we can help you order a discounted meal from the restaurant menu.
